How to airdry your hair and still look like you’ve had a professional blowout

Categories : Hair

Bye bye, blowdryer! You can have perfect hair without blasting it with heat every day. Try these expert tips on how to air-dry your hair without it looking limp, frizzy, or buhaghag. We found the best hair hack for every hair type, too!

Curly Hair

Common problem: It gets wild, tangled and can feel dry at the tips

Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Steal this salon secret: even if you love you hot showers, end with a cold rinse so your curls become smoother. Then squeeze out water with a towel, and comb a hair oil or leave-in conditioner.

Wavy Hair

Common problem: It gets frizzy

Use an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner. Blot out moisture with a towel, then apply a texturing salt spray. You can also apply a serum at the ends so you define your waves without weighing them down.
Another really easy hair hack: tie it into a loose braid while it’s damp. This will set the waves and prevent frizz. Once your hair dries, remove the hair tie and shake out your curls.

Straight Hair

Common problem: It looks flat or limp

Clarifying shampoo can help fine, straight hair from looking flat. It removes product build up which weighs down hair. Apply it on the roots, and then rinse out with lukewarm water. Use conditioner just 2 or 3 times a week, an apply only from the midshaft to the ends.

When you dry your hair, blot out moisture with a towel and scrunch it with your hands. When hair is half dry, mist a texturing sea salt spray. Keep scrunching it until it dries.

Another way to wake up with extra volume: spritz dry shampoo on the roots and twist into a topknot before sleeping. When you wake up, you get sexy beach waves without any effort or styling!
