Find a facial wash for your skin type

Categories : Skincare

Do you ever pause to think if your facial wash addresses your skin’s needs? Choosing the right facial wash can make a huge difference. Here’s a recommendation of some approaches that can work for you:

OILY

Huge fan tea drinkers would be happy to try Zenutrients Green Tea Foaming Facial Wash. When it touches your face, the sensation is so light and breezy, you’ll want to squirt out another. If Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea Eau de Toilette became a facial foam, this would be it. It’s so delightfully fragrant that it’s like perfume on the face, because Zenutrients is is natural and/or organic! Green tea is recommended for oily skin because it’s gentle, re-balances the skin, contains anti-oxidants, and IS great at drying out mild pimples.

Meanwhile, for coffee drinkers, the Milea Lemongrass Coffee Facial Scrub contains Lemongrass as base and is loaded with caffeine from ground Barako coffee. The caffeine (in coffee) has potent anti-inflammatory properties that make it ideal for reducing inflammation and redness in the skin. If you can’t get enough of coffee, why not smear it on your face too!

This facial scrub also has lemongrass, an anti-microbial and anti-bacterial herb. It can help ward off pimples or skin infections as well as lessen skin issues caused by bacterial infections. Lemongrass is also fungicidal, which means it helps cure fungus infections. The herb acts as an astringent that helps to minimize pores, limit the secretions of oil, and provide a temporary skin-firming treatment.

ACNE-PRONE

Try the Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser. You need not put much to spread on the face. The best part of this cleanser is the cool sensation left behind after you’ve rinsed. It can be too strong if used more than once a day. It is best to alternate it with a milder cleanser. The salicylic acid is key in eliminating acne. The great thing is that while you blast away the zits, it restores suppleness for younger looking skin.

Milea’s Guava Foaming Facial Wash is another great pimple fighter. It is enriched with Bee Propolis to help with pimples and acne. Bee Propolis has high antibacterial property that helps heal your skin and protects it from pimple-causing bacteria. Guava pulp holds beneficial components, including vitamin C, lycopene, carotene, and antioxidants that are important for the hydration, the regeneration, and the protection of the skin.

SENSITIVE

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser worked for me at one point. My redness stopped, and the breakouts were minimized too. The mild soap-free, fragrance-free, noncomprehending facial wash doesn’t strip skin of its natural protective oils or emollients.

Another great discovery was Monothemeio Eco’s Cucumber Cleansing Gel.With no parabens, no artificial coloring, no SLES/SLS (traditional surfactants of chemical origin), no petroleum derivatives, this gel’s ingredients are 98% vegetable in origin! Every vegan’s delight! The benefits of cucumber for the skin are no secret to anyone: the cucumber rejuvenates, refreshes, and reduces pores and tightens the skin gently and naturally.

NORMAL

Celeteque’s DermoScience Hydration Facial Wash leaves the skin smooth and clean without drying it or irritating it. This wash has a natural moisturizing factor that restores the skin’s moisture evenly. It comes in three sizes for you to choose from so you can start out with the smallest if you’re still testing it out. This size is handy when travelling too.
If you have normal skin, but want to give it a bit more of a radiant boost, try Milea’s Papaya Foaming Facial Wash. Papaya can work wonders on tired, “old” looking skin. It’s high in Vitamin A and Vitamin C and also contains Vitamin E. Applying papaya on skin has an amazing tightening, as well as brightening, effect. It’s abundant in natural alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA). It acts as a gentle exfoliator as well as a skin brightener. Whenever dark, dead skin cells are exfoliated with papaya, the skin will appear lighter and brighter.

COMBINATION

Although similar to gel, neem has a different kind of gliding texture on the skin. It is slightly thicker, so just a big fat drop will be enough to put on the whole face. Himalaya’s Purifying Neem Face Wash is specially formulated to help clear, problem-free skin. Neem is well-known for its purifying and antibacterial properties, and in this wash it is combined with Turmeric that helps control acne and pimples. This product is also soap-free!

Zenutrient’s Lavender &Tea Tree Foaming Facial Wash is another great antibacterial wash: it’s mild, light in scent, and good for skin that can both be dry and be oily at the same time.

“For each skin type, there is a particularly effective skin care. Get to know your skin real well. Be sensitive to its needs, and be aware when it changes over time. Then do the proper and thorough research to see what will enhance it and give it that extra and healthier glow.”

DRY

Those with dry skin can try VMV’S Moisture Rich Creammy Cleansing Milk For Dry Skin.
