NICHIDO MAKEUP LOOK with KRIS LUMAGUI
We love Filipina makeup vlogger Kris Lumagui’s videos! She’s so likeable (can hang out with you, Kris?!) and gives super clear, straightforward instructions. In this video, she reviews Nichido, which is found in basically every SM Department store. It sounds Japanese, but it’s made in the Philippines. She says the foundation is just as good as Kryolan. Definitely looks very high coverage and creamy, but note that she uses a flat top brush to buff it in. That’s the secret to making a thick foundation go on really sheer! Work it in so you don’t look like you’re wearing a mask. Watch her tutorial for the full review:
EVER BILENA MAKEUP LOOK with ALEXA ILACAD
Ever Bilena’s eyebrow pencils have been a cult favorite since forever, but Filpina makeup vlogger Alexa Ilacad shows you that this local beauty brand can give you a really luxe makeup look for a super budget price! We love the fresh, natural look that’s perfect for school, work, or a daytime date. Watch how she blends that eyeshadow blush and defines her brows — it’s strong, but still soft and super feminine. Take notes, ladies!
EASY MAKEUP FOR MORENAS by MICHELLE DY
Filipina makeup vlogger Michelle uses a variety of products, but all of them are available at SM department stores or online. That eyeshadow look is perfect: shimmery, but subtle, and so classy. Really makes her chinita eyes pop, and dupes the look of more expensive makeup like Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. She does use Nyx Products (oops — not a FIlipino brand!) but it’s still affordable, and as Pinays like to say, “pasok sa budget.”
QUICK AND AFFORDABLE LOOK by ANNE KLUTZ
No money — no problem? Filipina makeup vlogger Anne Klutz uses super affordable brands like Ever Bilena and SanSan to create a full look. The secret is to blend, blend, blend, blend, blend. Doesn’t matter if a product costs P100 or P1,000 — if you don’t work that sponge or brush, sis, it’s not going to look natural. Watch the makeup master at work!
