Easy makeup looks for your next Zoom call

Categories : Makeup

While we’re living in this age of social distancing and video calls, it’s important to maintain a routine even though we’re stuck at home. And since it’s quarantine, most of us, if not all, are working from home and that means one thing: endless video calls with co-workers and bosses during the daytime and catching up on evening conference calls with the ladies. Here, we give you easy looks you can try for that next Zoom session. Don’t worry, they don’t take more than 10 minutes to do:

Morning meeting with coworkers

An easy look perfect to make yourself look like you didn’t wake up just a few minutes before your Zoom call. The rosy monochrome trend is all the rage yet again, with the same mauve or coral hues applied on eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Start off by applying a tinted moisturizer all over your face and neck. Next, grab make-up that can be used as an eyeshadow, blush–just dab and blend them with your fingertips. Then, brush your eyebrows with a spoolie brush and fill them in with a product of your choice. If you don’t want to do a dramatic eye look, you can skip the mascara and just curl your lashes.

Of course, you don’t want to look like you just rolled out of bed when you’re in a Zoom meeting with your boss. With this, you can focus on the eyes and lips without going over-the-top.

We’ll keep this basic as we want to look professional—we don’t want to look too distracting. For glowing skin, add a bit of moisturizer to your foundation. Fill in your brows and dab some satin eyeshadow on your lids and just below the eyes. Swipe some cheek stick on your cheekbones and add some lip stain topped with a matte lippie. To appear wide awake, finish with coats of mascara and a tap a little bit of highlighter.

Happy hour with the ladies

Grab some mocktails (since there’s liquor ban!) and call up the ladies. The thing with video calls is you can look washed out especially in dim lighting, so just apply a more vibrant makeup than you normally will. Go have fun—it’s a night in with the girls, after all.

HoThe key to a more accurate make-up look is using your webcam or phone camera as a mirror. Focus on sculpting and defining your face with a bronzer and highlighter. To recreate this look, apply a lightweight foundation then define your face. Accentuate your eyes with dramatic eyeliner, some shimmery eyeshadow, and coats of mascara. Add a touch of peach blush and matte lipstick. Finish the look off with highlighter on your cheekbones, nose bridge, and inner corners of eyes.

Virtual date with the beau

Switch the nude lippie with a bold lip when you’re on a Zoom call with the beau. Make it fun by choosing virtual backgrounds and pretend you’re in your go-to samgyupsal place or even better, a country on your bucket list!

A swipe of bold lippie can brighten up your look. Start off your look with your favorite foundation with light coverage, contour then do your brows. Put on subtle smokey eyeshadow, liner, and mascara. Swipe bold lipstick to give definition to and enhance your facial features.
