Bloated face? These 5 tips can help!

Categories : Skincare

We have all had cheat days when we went overboard and binged on yummy goodies – champagne, dark chocolate, salty crisps and icecream! Delish! Unfortunately, the morning after is not as divine when you wake up looking like the Pillsbury Dough Boy! Here are some tips that will help debloat a puffy mug.

Sip on some green tea

Green tea is packed with antioxidants and a natural detoxifier for your skin and body. Brew yourself one hot cup in the morning and midday. This will help flush the toxins and puffiness out of your system. You can also use green tea as a topical remedy by steeping the bags in boiling water, allowing them to cool for a few minutes in the refrigerator (or freezer) and applying them to areas of puffiness such as the cheeks and eye area.

Do the Downward Dog

This inverted yoga pose will boost blood circulation in your face, making it faster for the toxins to clear out and for your face to deflate! Start in a kneeling position and place your knees under your hips and hands under your shoulders. Slowly straighten your legs until your hips are in the air. Take 5 to 10 deep breaths in this position and repeat three times.

Give your face a massage

Sometimes our complexion could use a helping hand or two to get the blood flow going and deflate puffiness. All you have to do is use gentle half-moon motions with your ring and middle fingers and massage your under-eye, cheek and chin areas. Do this for a minute or two and you’ll see (and feel) a difference — promise!

Try a detoxifying mask

Detox your face with the help of a clay-based mask. These little miracle workers (like Glamglow’s Supermud) help draw toxins and yuckiness out of your skin. They also leave your skin feeling more taut and tightened, which is great when you’re dealing with a sugar hangover!

Contour

Sometimes, when our face isn’t at its best, we need to fake it. Thankfully, we have game-changing makeup products that fill in the gaps for us. When your face is looking a little round and chipmunk-like, put on a little smoke-and-mirrors act, also known as contouring. This will help create the illusion of chiseled, slim features, even on your puffiest morning.
