Our sunscreen picks and why you should wear suncare while on quarantine

Categories : Skincare

Let’s debunk the skincare myth that you only need sunscreen when you’re going out (in this case, we’re all not). Skin health experts advise that you need to apply sunscreen every day—sun exposure or not. This is non-negotiable, ladies.

You see, every day we are being exposed to UVA light—something that unlike UVB rays, glass windows cannot block. UVA rays can penetrate deep into the skin, can cause signs of premature aging like wrinkles, dark spots, and even worse, skin cancer.

Sunscreen is vital to your skincare routine, and if you’re confused about the amount of SPF you need, experts suggest SPF30. It doesn’t matter what kind of sunscreen you use, all the experts we spoke to suggested that they all work the same way—and you should reapply every two hours.

Here, we’ve listed our choices of sun protection you should slather on even though you’re stuck indoors:

Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen SPF50 and PA++

Like Jess Wilson, our skincare New Year’s resolution is also to wear sunscreen daily. Coming from a family of beauty queens, she claims that the only beauty she ever got from her mom and aunts is to wear sunscreen. The Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen features a non-sticky and lightweight formula and formulated with niacinamide and brightening essence that lightens dark spots and evens skin tone.
