beauty guide to self tanning

Fake tan is not fake news – Here’s your Beauty Insider guide to self-tanning

Categories : Bath & Body

One thing we love about summer is the effortless golden glow we get when on the beach. Summer is still almost a month away but if you want to cop that glow every day, then it’s time to start experimenting with self-tanners. Get that summer glow, all year round, with this self-tanning beauty guide!

Here are the usual steps when applying a self-tanner:

  1. Exfoliate. Exfoliating your skin will help remove dead skin cells and set the base for your tanner.
  2. Dry your skin to create a blank canvass for your tanner.
  3. Apply sparingly. Starting with your legs or arms. Experts also recommend applying cream tanners in circular motions.
  4. Give it ample time to set and then apply your SPF.

A little background: self-tanners available in the local market are usually spray-on or serum-like. Apply on the areas you want to emphasize after taking a bath or applying SPF. The goal is mimicking and improving your natural skin color without streaks or blotches. If you’re looking to play with self-tanners, we’ve created the most uncomplicated and easy-to-use list below:
