Celebrity couple KathNiel opens barbershop ‘Barbero Blues’

The popular loveteam of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, more commonly known to their fans as “KathNiel”, extended their tandem from show business to beauty business. From being onscreen partners (where they had been paired for a box office movies and hit television series) to being offscreen lovers (where they revealed the true status of their relationship), the couple added a new layer to their commitment to each other, and that’s through their first business venture together, a barbershop aptly named the Barbero Blues.

Kathryn Bernardo’s boyfriend’s meticulous ways of styling his hair somehow influenced the decision to open a hair salon for men. Daniel Padilla was known to be picky when it comes to getting a haircut, so opening the barbershop was quite reasonable.

Also, Barbero Blues is located right in front of Kathnails by KCMB, the nail salon which was Kathryn Bernardo’s family’s initial foray into the beauty industry. So, for the couples that want a pampering session, the ladies would get the ‘me-time’ at the nail salon, while the gents would get the all-masculine vibe of the traditional barbershop at Barbero Blues.

Barbero Blues opened doors in a grand opening on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the 5th level of The Block, SM North EDSA in Quezon City. Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s families and celebrity friends such as Ria Atayde and Dominic Roque were at the much-celebrated opening. Joint business as it may between the real-life loveteam, the hair salon was, in fact, a family business. According to reports, Kathryn Bernardo’s mother, as well as the Magandang Buhay host Karla Estrada (Daniel Padilla’s mom), were also partners to the business.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla would now join the league of celebrities that crossed the line from the entertainment industry to the beauty industry. There’s a number of entertainment stars owning beauty salons such as Liza Soberano and Nadine Lustre, while some showbiz personalities own their makeup lines.
